BBCでは、GMのワゴナー会長は政府からの資金は苦境打開に使用されている（its chief executive Rick Wagoner says the money is being used to "keep the business running during this difficult time）と述べたと伝えています。Keep the business runningというのは自動車産業らしい表現です。

ロサンゼルス・タイムズでは、主要メーカが電気自動車への重点移行を宣言したと伝えています（nearly every major automaker, including General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and Toyota Motor Corp., announced plans to develop more electric vehicles.）。電気自動車はelectric-powered carやbattery carとも言います。

It is important for makers to join an exhibition.  Nissan and other makers that have avoided the entry this time should reconsider their strategy.
