BBCでは、ヒラリーが上院外交委員会の公聴会に出席して国務長官の就任にふさわしいか否かの承認審査を受けた（the hearing to confirm Mrs Clinton's appointment as secretary of state）と伝えています。このconfirmは承認や追認という意味です。

アルジャジーラは、ヒラリーがイスラエルとパレスチナのイスラム勢力との間の平和協定の締結に向けて積極的に取り組む姿勢だと伝えています（a peace agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians）。
